Hi

As part of training myself in Other World Mapper, I created an updated map for the World of Ethshar, the Misenchanted book series by Lawrence Watt-Evans. This series is one of my favorite fantasy series of all times. I am currently reading my seventh Ethshar book.
The work is based on a drawing that Lawrence Watt-Evans did himself as well as a colour version by J. K. Hoffman. All rights are reserved with Lawrence Watt-Evans.

Here is my version of Ethshar:

I hope you guys enjoy it!
Go buy Lawrence Watt-Evans' Ethshar series. This is the first book and it is amazing (and need way more support and attention):

Great work!! I love how it turned out.

Thanks! :-)
Is there an easier way to add the lines on the compass rather than using the line tool? It is hard to be precise..

Not with this upcoming release, but with the one after. It's been on our to do list for a while..

Hey, your map looks pretty good. I'm always tempted to keep adding details, but you have nice clean look, and it's very readable. It reminds me that I've been meaning to recreate a Jack Vance, Tschai Planet of Adventure world map with OWM. I should start with a regional map first though, and work up to the entire world.

The Jack Vance website has a number of B&W maps for his various worlds: https://www.jackvance.com/ebooks/maps/

If you need more practice, feel free to convert Tscahi over!

Making maps based on established games or books is a great way to learn the tool, I think.
The challenge with adding details for me is that it is an established book world. Without input from the author I would either have to read all the books in detail or make it up. The latter wouldn't feel right if a reader stumbles over it and I just made up the landscape. Might be better to do ones own stuff, I feel or remaking maps with more detais, so I can get it right :)
