More Control Over Layering

Post by evildmguy » Thu Jun 24, 2021 2:17 pm

Greetings!

I think this was talked about but I want to be sure. In my other example, I had a Feature (barrels) I wanted to put under stairs.

I don't know how tough it would be but what I want is better control of layers. This pic shows two stairs, one in the closed area, the one on the right, and one outside of it. What I want is the outside one to be under the wall, and therefore show the door.

In general, I want control of which layer something is at and where that layer is in regards to the other objects. I'm not saying this is how you do this but I want control of the order in which things are drawn, to control what looks under what.

Thanks!

Here is another example:

I want the fireplace to be above the floor but under the wall, so that the chimney part is outside. Or, again, some way to mask the one symbol or put it under the closed area?

Thanks!

More control of layers and drawing order is something we have planned, but because it requires a lot of rewriting of our engine it is something planned for a version 2.0.
