Freehand (Landmasses, Etc.)

Post by SilverSurfer1221 » Tue May 25, 2021 3:32 pm

Currently, when the end-user uses Freehand to create a landmass (etc.) you end up with a ton of points, which makes it virtually impossible to edit the landmass later. Having worked with a few vector drawing programs (Illustrator, Affinity Designer, etc.) their freehand tools allow you to create complex shapes that use the minimal amount of points to simulate what you've drawn freehand. Would it be possible to get something similar in OWM? I would be using the freehand tool to create landmasses IF it didn't generate such dense vectors (so many dots!).

As an example, here's a screen grab from OWM:

And here's a similar freehand shape in Affinity Designer:

Before you draw: activate [Tools -> Auto Reduce Points]

Thanks, but that example (see above) was drawn with Auto Reduce Points already activated, so OWM is not doing a decent job here.

Absolutely. I'll add the request to our list and we'll try to get it in for 1.0.5 or 1.06. Thank you for the feedback!
