autosave can't find map directory and tool bar glitch

Post by soulclaw » Tue Jun 18, 2019 10:15 pm

Autosave and Save can't seem to find the map directory, I have to use Save As to save my map. Is there a menu that allows me to register the directory so the program can find it?

Also, my tool bar gets all weird when I mouse over it.

That is really odd. What version of Windows are you running? (And are you on the latest version of OWM?)

Thank you!

I am still having this problem even after a complete clean reinstall.

It's an issue with V0.9.7 working to have a new version out this month.

Meanwhile, you can create the folder it's telling you isn't there.

I.e. c:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Other World Mapper\Autosave

Autosave or "Other World Mapper" may be missing.

Thank you!

I have discovered the problem, my installation of owm has wandered into unexpected locations, for some reason all my files are in Program Files (x86)\three minds etc. and every time I uninstall and reinstall the program I click yes if it asks if I want to use the existing folder, which is in the wrong place.

I will uninstall and reinstall and let it pick it's own location this time.

OK, apparently the program wants to live in the x86 folder and your installer doesn't create the required user\yaddayadda\appdata\local\yadda folder for the autosave, and it also is putting my saves in documents\other world mapper, making three locations required for owm. Isn't this a bit disorganised?

Hello!

On your points:
* The autosave location is recommended practices by Microsoft, so we need to go by that (we could always add an option to select it?). * * You should be able to install outside that folder. We'll investigate.
* The location of the saves is wherever you want, the default of documents\ is recommended MS practices, but once you save somewhere else any time you go save it will default to the new location.

Thank you!

Hey guys, I'm getting these errors too. Win10 x64 Can post screen shots if needed.

Also when I do create the folder that it can't "find", it gets other errors.
