It's been very quiet on the forum, but I was hoping to see an end-of-year update on plans for OWM heading into 2025.

Just one plan till 2030 would suprise me at this point.

Yeah, I would not be shocked if they are done with any real upgrades to the software, maybe some bug fixes at best?

I'm constantly adding to my map icon/assets and creating maps here and there for both my own adventures and a handful of DriveThruRPG products, so I've gotten good use out of OWM*. That said, I'd be happy to see continued, active support for the software.

*I also need to credit the DungeonDraft mapping software, which is great for smaller scale maps (buildings/tunnels etc.).

It would be nice to see an update, yes.

I didn't want to reply until I could say for certain, but we are now back in official development for OWM.
We'll start with existing issues that have been reported and then move on to some of the features that had been partially implemented after V1.1.1.

Trying to start with a small release to get back into the rhythm of it.

Yeah, it's a good idea to start small and easy.
