I did the same sort of thing, the first time I created a new forum over at The Piazza.

I've checked and I am allowed to start threads in the Worldbuilding forum, so if you still actually have this problem, and were not just reporting the issue a bit late, it would probably be an issue with the permissions on your own user account.
