Post by evildmguy » Sun Sep 25, 2022 4:18 pm

Any progress for the next version?

Is there a roadmap?

Thanks!

We are actually working towards the first release of the V1.1.X branch.

We have a lot of plans and additions we are making to the engine, but for the first V1.1.1 release we are likely only going to have a small set of the planned additions working.

We are going slower than we had planned, but hoping to pick back up this month.

Is MacOS the problem again?

Always :( . If we don't get past it will release the Windows version first, then a few weeks later the Mac and then Linux.

I hate doing that.. but it may be the better way.

Thank you!

Maybe call it a beta or a preview :)

The advantage of an earlier release for Windows would be that Windows users can post their feedback. Possible minor bugs could then be fixed directly for Mac users as soon as the obstacle that delayed the release has been removed.

I apologize for being the OP and not coming back sooner.

Is there a roadmap someplace?

In these days of covid, I run two remote games using Foundry. I keep going back to DD for two reasons. The main reason is that it can export in the general vtt (uvtt) format so that I can load it into Foundry. That is a huge time saver for me as then I don't have to redo walls or doors. Or I don't have to do cave walls that are approximations instead of the true shape of them.

I was wondering if that is part of the new release?

Thanks!

(I will make sure I get notified of replies now!)

DD's export format is something I want to explore, but probably won't be for V1.1.1. OS native support for M1 is high on our priority (Rosetta seems to cause issues for some, though we haven't been able to reproduce them with our HW).

More to come once we finalize the plans for the first few releases of the V1.1 branch.

Thank you!
