Just a reminder (specially to beta backers that just joined the alpha/beta) that the artwork and assets in OWM right now are still the pre-alpha ones. We plan to add the finished and brand new assets by Beta 2. We'll have a Kickstarter update on artwork soon with more info.

Re: Not that I am anxious or anything...
Ohh. Alpha version to Beta backers sounds good. That means you can get more people to look for bugs. More bug testers means faster identification of bugs. Faster identification of bugs means a quicker move to Beta. :) That's our hope! We are also hoping for more feedback on the tools and functional...

Alpha 3 release today + forum sections
Alpha and Beta backers,
Alpha release 3 is finally coming out today after longer than expected regression testing and many all nighthers. By now everyone in the Alpha and Beta tiers should have access to the Alpha and Beta forum section. If you don't, please let us know.

Re: Projected Completion of City Map objective
I know there are multiple project milestones ahead of city maps, but I was wondering if there was a projected date for incorporating city map functionality into OWM. I'm guessing it will not come until somewhere in the beta stage of development. I'm trying to decide if it would be best to continue ...

Alpha Release 3 small delay
Just an update on the Alpha Release 3. We are still doing regression testing and fixing small bugs and issues. Considering the number of features added with this release and that Beta backers will be included we want to make sure OWM is as stable as possible. We now expect the release to be finished...

Re: Importing Maps
As a writer, I already have paper copies of some complex maps. I have attempted to duplicate two of them in OWM, but it has been very frustrating. Since the current design of the maps are intricately related to the novels and stories that inspired them, I can't just recreate something new. I can, h...

Re: Testing on Linux with Wine
Casey,
Thank you for all the info!
The engine is cross platform for the most part (save for a few gdiplus calls). Our original idea was a native GUI rewrite for Linux, but Winelib is a good idea, even if just for the first linux release(s).
Thanks!

Re: Not that I am anxious or anything...
...but the July update got me all excited! "if everything goes well we will make Alpha release 3 available to our Beta backers in late August as well." Begs the question, is everything going well? Glad it did! :). Everything is going well The functionality from Alpha 2 is stable and we are pretty m...

Re: Windows 10 - Does it break OWM?
Casey, On a side note I have also tried running it on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and 8/8.1 .. there don't seem to be any issues with OS interaction. I've had one report of issues with Vista that I haven't been able to reproduce. I'm starting to think it was a machine without the latest Vista service p...
