Installer won't run in 32 bit platforms
The installer released with alpha won't run in 32 bit platforms. We created a separate installer for 32 bit (x86) PCs and we plan to upload it soon. This will be based on the original alpha release so it won't have the bugs we fixed so far. Our plan is to have a second alpha release within the next ...

Re: Multiple Land Masses
About the two issues: * Thank you for catching the file selection bug! We'll add it to the list of issues. * We improved performance quite a bit since the alpha release. Those changes will be part of the second alpha release to come within the next few weeks. Can you send us your map/project file s...

Touch devices
We received a report that Other World Mapper doesn't start on a touch screen laptop running Windows 8.1. We are in the process of getting a touch device running Win 8.1 to do testing. We haven't had confirmation, but a temporary work around would be to disable the touch service on the device. 1) Ope...

Re: Recent Update
I just looked over the videos of the recent update. I can't wait. It's gonna be awesome! Anyways, one question I have, and I'm guessing the software can handle it... But anyways, will we be able to take a small piece of perhaps a world map and expand that into its own map? Something like if you wan...

Re: Mapmaker?
Hi! Guess I'm late in the game here. I knew it was going to be released on the 5th, but I'd thought an email would remind me. Never got one. How do I get a copy of the map program? Thanks. The May 4th date was for the alpha release, for those who wanted to participate in alpha testing by pledging a...

Re: Automatic Grouping of Mountain/Terrain Type Features in to Chains
Good Afternoon, I have been having a lot of fun working with OWM and I was curious if there was a plan to allow auto grouping of terrain elements such as mountains and hills. Casey A. :ugeek: Casey, We like the idea, the thing would be how to implement it. Keep in mind that: a. Right now you can se...

Re-generating fractal segments
We've had a question on this, so we wanted to make a note for everyone. If you are using one of the fractal tools, and you are not happy with the segment generated, holding down the "Shift" key and using the mouse wheel scroll will generate a different random fractal segment. We'll make sure to add ...

Overview (help) Document and Questions
Edit : Document added For those trying the alpha, we finished an overview/help document. Note that it's only an overview document and not a "true" help document. http://www.otherworldmapper.com/alpha/OverviewOtherWorldMapperV0.7.1.pdf We're hoping the GUI will be intuitive in most cases, but the do...

Re: Printer Support - Print Buffer Output Empty
Casey,
Glad you are having fun!
The printer button was supposed to be disabled since the printing feature wasn't up to "alpha standards" and got commented out. We'll make sure to disable it for the next build we make available to the Alpha backers.
Thanks!
