Re: Re-generating fractal segments

We didn't think about it, but you are right. Any suggestions for alternative shortcuts :)? - Alejandro Ctrl+R+[Scroll] or META+R+[Scroll] .. R for refactor? The WINDOWS/META key can be a little under utilized and the META commands aren't processed by the shell until key release so commands like WIN...

Immediate Rasterizing vs. Delayed Render

Good Morning, So here I am this morning about a hour and a half into my new map, a scale size New American Nations, and I start to see the downsides of immediate rasterization of the vector data. I understand that in Alpha 2 you have made some improvements in performance and I hope that helps. My in...

Re: Metric system

Thanks Casey. I love maps. Sadly, that isn't the same as being good at making them. Hopefully I can get good at making maps, so that the ideas I have in my head will go down on paper (or virtual paper) and look good. Same here Mac.. Same Here.. Practice makes Passable .. right.. ;) Casey :ugeek:

Re: Re-generating fractal segments

Kanchou,

I am quite happy with the fractal randomization as it is now..

Devils Advocate Time: I think the shift+scroll is an effective method but it might confuse some people who come from other drawing utilities where the Zoom commands are Shift+Scroll up/down.

Re: Automatic Grouping of Mountain/Terrain Type Features in to Chains

Additional Thoughts: Similar to the way the randomness of the coast lines are fractal calculations you could apply a fractal algorithm to the size and scale of mountains along the path. If you allow for a sliding scale tool to set the frequency of the fractal additions the depicted mountains would p...

Re: Automatic Grouping of Mountain/Terrain Type Features in to Chains

Kanchou, I've been playing with the moutain tools some more and I think I might have a possible suggestion.. If you allow the mountain tool to work as a pen type (similar to to rivers and roads), or stamp type as it is now via a selection box (Radio or Checkbox) you could then autogroup the generate...

Automatic Grouping of Mountain/Terrain Type Features in to Chains

Good Afternoon,

I have been having a lot of fun working with OWM and I was curious if there was a plan to allow auto grouping of terrain elements such as mountains and hills.

Text Object Rotation Broken on Screen Editor vs Export

Issue: Text Labels - When the labels are rotated within the editor window to align with map features and then exported to other file formats the text is no longer rotated correctly in the exported images/documents. Images Included Below for Reference Image 01 - OWM 0.1.7a Editor Window http://wister...

Printer Support - Print Buffer Output Empty

I have been building a map of Galifrey and as I go along I have been exporting images in different formats. So far I have used .png, .jpg, .pdf. I was at my next save point and I wanted to test printer support. My office printer is an HP1518CP Laserjet with PCL-6 Drivers. OWM 0.1.7 activates the spo...
