Re: A few points about usability and UI

We put a lot of thought/planning onto that during our pre-alpha stage and feedback. a)A lot of people don't like the select and move to be the same tool because you may accidentally move and item when you just want to select it (for changing properties, copying, etc). b) If you include the rotate i...

Re: Re-generating fractal segments

- depending on the scroll wheel is a big no-no for folks working on a touchpad (maybe less common on Windows but commonplace on the Mac - and you are going to have a Mac version) - it would be nice if you also added some keyboard shortcuts that do the same thing. Something simple that can be operat...

Re: Misc UI Improvements

An option to auto-select the feature you just placed. I kept expecting the properties pane to affect the last feature I placed. It seems OWM expects you to set up your object properties, then place the object, which seems backwards to me. Keyboard shortcuts for at least the most basic tools - I kep...

Re: A few points about usability and UI

Stephanie made that point and we didn't make it to finish the change by Alpha 3. You guys think alike ;P We share more than a name, it seems. ;) We just had a UI update/redesign meeting. I'll make a new clean post on summarizing the changes before Monday. All these changes will be a part of Beta 1,...

Re: Namespaces

If you allow the creation of Name Spaces on the New Map dialogue it would save a lot of document editing overhead and it would make designing cohesive worlds much easier. Then you can just start drawing and keep it up until your little heart's content. This is an awesome idea, Casey! I’m all for it...

Re: A few points about usability and UI

Stefan, 1) That's been by far the thing that I've heard the most complaints about. We left the tool bar in pre-alpha state because it's in the middle of an overhaul for adding the dungeon and city tools. Beta 1 will let you dock it to the side like the rest of our windows. I'd like more feedback on...

A few points about usability and UI

I feel a little weird being the top poster but oh well. The reason I decided to back OWM is the promised simplicity of use. Autofractalization, following shapes, stuff like that. Now that I’ve been using it for a few days, I think that the ease of use could be improved in a few areas. Please treat t...

Re: Tile Set Generation

That would be awesome. Having the program understand how to print a big map on multiple standard pages (like A4 for me here in Europe) would be really nice.

Re: Arrows, currents and other markers

Stefan, * Even though it wasn't part of the KS, we are planning on adding common vector shapes tool (arrows, dots, etc). That should cover the second point. Awesome! I would much rather use big dots for cities in most of my maps, anyway. * We had plans to weather related tools for subsequent versio...

Arrows, currents and other markers

I need a way to draw ocean currents for my climate maps. How would you go about it in OWM?

I would also like to draw arrows to mark dominant winds. Is this currently possible?
