Yeah, I was hoping for something a bit more historical-looking, but that was the first example google images gave me.

Re: Images on Maps

Have you considered a setting to allow (ideally at a per-map level with a global default, but just global would also work) users to set the base path that these links are relative to? Would it work for you if we had a setting to add asset folder paths? The default/mandatory one would be the install...

Re: Map Thatching (for lack of a better phrase)

That would be a nice effect to give a "hand drawn" feel to the map. How about thatched textures that you could apply to a map object? My preferred variation on this kind of hatching is for it to start at the border of an object and extend some distance from the edge rather than being a complete bac...

As I read it, he's talking about something like Image

Re: Images on Maps

OWM's don't save graphics themselves but relative links to the file (i.e. it just says "someimage.png" goes here). Have you considered a setting to allow (ideally at a per-map level with a global default, but just global would also work) users to set the base path that these links are relative to? ...

Re: Regression Testing for V0.9.5 has begun!

Is 0.9.5 the version that will add Mac support or the one that will add Linux? (I remember that you were doing Mac in one release and Linux in the following release, but I've forgotten whether that was 0.9.4/0.9.5 or 0.9.5/0.9.6.) Edit: Never mind. I should have read the blog post first. This...

Re: Program closes when selecting PRINT

You made me think when you asked how many printers I have installed. It occured to me that I had not unistalled my old printer from my system. So I uninstalled both printers, then reinstalled my current one and that did the trick. I am now happily printing maps again. Still looks like a bug with OW...

Re: Mapping Pliocene Europe

I had thought to get a high res map of Europe, lay a 50x50 grid over it, set up a map in OWM, with a 50x50 grid, and then start recreating. You can skip the grids entirely if you scale your map of Europe to an appropriate size (i.e., one which gives you a map that will fit into your computer's memo...

Re: Political maps

If you click directly on the edge of a landmass/region/etc., you should get a tooltip saying something like "start following edge". Then click further down that same edge to continue following it, or on another (connected) edge to follow the one onto the other. (I haven't used this feature recently ...

Re: (Suggestion) Selecting Like Features

Definitely sounds like a good feature to add, but I think it would be better to have a "select similar" keystroke rather than activating it on double-click. It's not that difficult to accidentally double-click and I don't think this is a feature that most users would use often enough to be worth tha...
