Re: Laydown Features More Like Paint Brush

Now, if only the "brush" could respect land borders (i.e. know not to place anything in the sea), that would totally rock. IMO, this feature, if it gets implemented (to not exceed landmass boundaries) should be a toggle that can get turned on or off. Obviously, there will be times the end-user will...

Re: Doors?

You are able to import your own art to use (or art you've acquired elsewhere) and save it to use at any time. At the top of the UI to the right is a square icon that looks like a frame with mountains in it. If you click that, it opens the Art Manager. You can use the Art Manager to import your custo...

Re: PNG compression

You're right. I don't have access to the source code. But, in this case, I don't need to. It's pretty easy to see what's going on. But I did learn something from your posts - you don't want to hear what anyone else has to say other than the developers. So, fine. I'll not respond to your posts. Have ...

Re: PNG compression

I guess you're right - no need to give you relevant information that can help you to answer your original question. I'm not trying to be mean in any way, but just trying to respond to what you've said. Is the PNG from OWM compressed? The answer appears to be no . Why? Because the exported PNG file s...

Re: PNG compression

In any case, the point is simple - OWM is not at fault here. It looks to be doing what it's supposed to be doing - creating a PNG file that appears to be the correct size based on the dimensions and DPI you have set. It does not look to be compressed (especially since the intent of PNG is to be loss...

Re: PNG compression

GIMP and Inkscape may not care, but you're defeating the purpose of what a PNG is for by compressing it (or at least GIMP and Inkscape are). If you want compression, you use a lossy file format, like JPG. That's what it's there for. If you don't want to lose any data (image quality, etc.) then you u...

Re: PNG compression

I don't believe you can (in Affinity Designer). PNG is not meant to be compressed. As a file format, it is meant to be uncompressed ... it's supposed to be a lossless file format. There are websites and pieces of software out there to "compress" PNG files, but this is not what the file format was me...

Re: PNG compression

Remember, PNG (Portable Graphics Format) was created to be an uncompressed raster format for use on the internet. It's original intent was to replace the GIF. As a result, PNG, by its nature, it is meant to produce a reasonably small file for use on a website.
