Trevor's fracture is putting us way ahead of our planned release schedule for OWM versions of our free cartographic add-ons. Volume 1 of the Dundjinni Archives now is available for downloading.
The Dundjinni Archives are a huge collection of features and textures gleaned from the Dundjinni Forums over a 10-year period by forums administrator Daniel Pryor. This free collection is licensed for personal and commercial use. Because of their size and the diverse content, the Dundjinni Archives are in three volumes:
Volume 1 contains features and textures suitable for overland ISO cartography. If that means nothing to you, this is the kind of cartography one does with the overland features that are delivered with OWM. The volume is relatively small. Dundjinni was used mainly as a battlemap program. Dundjinni users seldom made overland maps with the program. Therefore, the amount of user-created artwork for overland cartography is limited.
Volume 2 is, in contrast, huge. It is a wide-ranging library of features and textures for all kinds of maps … dungeons, building floor plans, towns, etc. The OWM version has not yet been released, but Trevor has started working on it.
Volume 3 is once again somewhat smaller. It contains features and textures for modern and science fiction cartography. The OWM version has not yet been released.
The download zip file contains these three files:
DA1_Setup.exe: The installer for the add-on.
Dundjinni Archives Vol 1 for OWM.pdf: A 32-page installation and user guide with an illustrated tutorial showing how to use Volume 1. The tutorial is a bookmarked PDF. It produces the sample map below.
DA Overland Tutorial.owm: The original file of the map created with the tutorial.
You can get it here:
