I was finally able to purchase the beta as I originally missed the Kickstarter campaign.

Just wanted to say, that this is the best and easiest map maker program I've ever seen.

Within 2 minutes I had entire land masses created with rivers, and lakes flowing together. The fact that everything is it's own layer, that can be moved around is genius.

Really spectacular program, and I can't wait to get a chance to really sit down and create the world for my future films and books.

James,

I know it's been a while since you wrote this, but finally having an extra minute!

Thank you very much for the awesome feedback! It's great to hear such positive feedback for OWM :). Hopefully you like the changes coming out soon with Beta 5!

Hi James.

Welcome to the OWM forums.

Have you ever tried to bash out an entire novel for NaNoWriMo? I've had a couple of failed attempts at a novel for NaNoWriMo (based in the Spelljammer universe - so I couldn't sell it). I was actually hoping to use OWM to build maps as preparation material for the worlds I want to use in my story (so that I don't get things like East and West mixed up).

Are you planning on making maps as props for films? I know they go to a lot of effort for fantasy films like Lord of the Rings, making books and parchment look old and used.
