If I create various maps of individual islands using this program is it possible to shrink each image and group them in a single overall area map depicting all the islands?

The core information for everything created using OWM tools is vector based, so it can be freely scaled, rotated, copy/pasted, etc. without loosing any resolution.

So, if you created several maps of the islands, you can create a new blank map and copy/paste the islands then scale them in the new overall map.
