Some new suggestions

Hey,

I've been using your mapper for a few mounth yet and i got some suggestions to give.

Fjörds: Using the river editor to make fjörds doesn't realy work, the best is the water tool but it would be nice to have a tool, maybe an option in the rivers, to make fjörds who are much larger and don't have a round ending. Also the delta option in the river might be intersting for fjörds if we could make it in reverse, fjörds tend to have one "exit" in the sea and several branch going on the land.

Polar circle: I think thats only something you missed or haven"t made yet, but when you have the North Pole Projection, you can't set up a starting and ending longitude and latitude. For exemple I have a map with a north pole continent and I can't activate the Angle labels because the numbers are wrong, i only have a zoom on the northern continent and not the entire world map.

New from selection: This feature is really nice and with the hability to "zoom in", with the resize option, you can go more and more in details with each map. The problem is, once you zoomed in you coast aren't made out of enought fractal and you get only straight lines. It would be really nice to have the possibility to take one or more lines and make a fractal out of it.

Altitudes: Maybe a more complex feature would be to have an altitude creater, or montain maker that can create montain chains and valley and even adjust some level of water to make more interesting coast.

Canyon: Like the fjörds, a canyon creater may be interresting.

Create from a line: May also be interresting to be able to create a shape from a line. For exemple if you make a straight line, it becomes a rectangle, but if you make a fractal line it will be a fractal rectangle. Add randomization between both lines of the rectangle so they are no more symetric. May be interresting for fjörds and canyons too.

Ressources: Jungle and Polar textures and ressources in general are really hard to find. It would be interresting to have a new expension texture pack that covers more climat.

Here is a map of the fjörds i'm trying to make with the inspiration of actual fjörds.

Just wanted to say Thank You! for the feedback and let you know I'll give you a proper response soon :). V0.9.5 is almost out, so that's been taking most of our time.

Thank you!

Looking over the feedback now that V0.9.6 is out. Thank you for the detailed suggestions!!

How about using the stream tool? We could make the rivers and streams allow for bigger rivers and different ending types.
Also, would having an option to add "random fractal noise" take care of the "jagged" look of Fjörds?

We'll also look at the revers delta. We didn't think about it :)

You actually already can do this. If you go select an item and go to the "Shape Edit Tool" and put it in "Shape Control Mode" then you can use it to regerate fracal segments between control points and to increase "fractalization." We can look at it being an overal option too so you can aply to all objects with a new map from selection.

We'll look into it. Might have more questions on this as the team explores it, so please check on the forums back :)

We've had this planned for a while. We'll see where we can fit it into the schedule

You actually can do this via the Shape Edit Tool...but it may be interesting to have this as an option while creating items..

Noted. Are you looking for something to use in a larger scale map (overland/continental map) or something you would use for battlemaps/dungeons/cities?

I just realized what you meant on this one. Not sure why we don't have it enabled. Might be an issue with the engine that we worked around by disabling the option altogether. We'll investigate.

Didn't saw this one, thanks ! Now my problem is that we can't select different kind of object at the same time, therefore I have to enhance every object one by one. But it works good :) What i'm actually trying to do is enhance every boundary and the details of the landscape, to make a map of every country, and then a map of every county etc.. Huge work, and your software is really amazing for maps :)

I tryed and the result is not bad. I made it on follow the lines of the rivers-fjörd i already made(for you cannot make fractals with streams) and the result is interresting but I have to work a little bit on this to see what i can do with it. :)

I also had a bug, when you follow the river with the stream tool, when you cross an intersection it makes the stream go crazy.
Also, would having an option to add "random fractal noise" take care of the "jagged" look of Fjörds?
I tried something similar by using the "fractalization tool" you just made me discover on the already created rivers-fjörds, but it makes it look kind of weird. So i tried to create more point on the curve first and then the fractalization but all I managed to make is to crash the soft ^^"

"random fractal noise" would be nice to add, i'll definitivly try it.

For now on i'm maping the northern continent so mostly continental frost/"antartical" montains/glacier et snow map. But frost battlemaps ressources sound good for i'm DMing in that continent right now on roll20.

Thank you for the feedback!!

We'll try to incorporate most of this :)
