Re: New Battle Map Artwork!

Correct. Though, in historical maps the numbers are a bit more subtle.

Sometimes they are just numbers like 5, 10, 15 with tick marks on the 1's.

Re: Map Thatching (for lack of a better phrase)

The only issue would be it would need to be on top of the canvas but below the rooms, halls, and text.

With thick hand drawn borders, it would be an interesting style.

Re: Images on Maps

I'm thinking one off art for the most part. For example, putting a flag on the side of the map as an embellishment. Or maybe, a picture of some dice? I tend to fill up white space on my underworld maps with pictures of the baddies or a sketch of a gate. I haven't played with the Art Manager but if t...

Re: New Battle Map Artwork!

I definitely like "Mappy" things. By that I mean the things that are typically part of a historical map. Banners, borders, compass rose's, map iconography, seals, banners, scale, notes and such make the maps look more like maps. There is a pretty good selection in OWM. Seems like that every map make...

Re: Text Disappearing between Saves

It threw a debug message and then it rebooted. Nothing lost. There wasn't really a stacktrace ... looks like something you captured in the code. I was cutting and pasting labels from one location to another. I'll screen grab the message next time ("if" there is a next one). It might have been duplic...

Map Thatching (for lack of a better phrase)

A number of web sites have shown how to "Thatch" the area in an dungeon map where the rooms and hallways are not. It's a nice effect for one's eye. I think you even have an example on this site (in the maps that you made before OWM). It's a bit of work by hand ... but ... computer = easy? Rather tha...

Re: Number Labels

That works. Text seems like the hardest thing to get just right. (This is not unique to OWM.) Some people put names in the rooms, some put numbers (depending on real estate). Putting text in boxes would eliminate the visual noise from the image behind the text. But, that opens a new can of worms? Ho...
