Are you moving the items to a new parent item? When items are moved to a new parent, they're either centered on the parent or (if they're moved to the Canvas) moved to the top-left of the map. It sounds like a message issue, but I haven't been able to reproduce it yet. I've added it to our bug list. Has it happened with other item types or have you just seen it with the rivers? Is this on the canvas or a landmass?
