Re: What are your plans for Other World Mapper?
Other World Mapper has been a tremendous help in mapping and tracking locations for The Crystal Blades: Assassins. Chris and I hope to extend its use to creating the city maps when that feature becomes available for the rest of the series. I'm looking forward to replicating all the hand drawn maps I...

How Do I ...
OWM has a lot of features but not a lot of documentation - yet. I thought we could use a place to collect questions on how to get the most benefit out of it or a place to ask how to do things in OWM. I get to ask the first question. :) How do you remove a background image from the map? I used a back...

Re: Re-generating fractal segments
Since I need city maps atm, and city maps aren't a feature of OWM at present, I'm mostly lurking, too, when I'm not working or hand drawing my cities.

Projected Completion of City Map objective
I know there are multiple project milestones ahead of city maps, but I was wondering if there was a projected date for incorporating city map functionality into OWM. I'm guessing it will not come until somewhere in the beta stage of development. I'm trying to decide if it would be best to continue s...

Re: Importing Maps
I'm good with that.
I didn't want to get carried away with finding alternatives unnecessarily.

Re: Importing Maps
Ok, maybe this is a dumb question, but how do we add towns, cities, capitals onto the map? Will there be symbols for them? Right now I'm using the Buildings feature as a temporary marker, but they don't really convey population locations well.

Re: River issues
I did more work with the River tool. When I unchecked the Delta option, the shifting shoreline problem seemed to go away.

River issues
While recreating the map of Valshan, I began working on adding bodies of water and rivers. The 2 rivers I added to Shalim came out as expected. When I tried to add more complex rivers in Faeres, however, upon reaching the point where the river meets the sea, one of 3 things happened: the delta was c...

Re: Importing Maps
The previous comments were based on importing/tracing Chris's map of his world. The map is quite vague and bland with little detail, so it was a good first attempt at the process. I thought you might want a sketchy look at the issues I have while trying to recreate my old poster board maps. Aside fr...

Re: Importing Maps
The line pen gave better results for drawing boundaries than the Freehand pen. A "journey marker" would work well as long as it can bend or at least points added/removed to mimic a curved path. Unfortunately, people don't always travel in straight lines. I like that it even shows distance traveled. :)
