That's great to hear!

What's in the next release?
Mostly issue fixes. 2020 was pretty rough on our release plan and we didn't make as much progress as we wanted.

We'll still have a few new cool features for buildings, stairs and others.

Re: Hi from Scotland

Hi New on the Forum, been using mapper for three years now, writing my first fantasy book, and found it useful for mapping and setting landscapes and character movements over the past few years of writing. Manuscript now with editor for a read through and hoping to have it published within the year...

Re: World of Ethshar (unofficial fan map)

Hi As part of training myself in Other World Mapper, I created an updated map for the World of Ethshar, the Misenchanted book series by Lawrence Watt-Evans. This series is one of my favorite fantasy series of all times. I am currently reading my seventh Ethshar book. The work is based on a drawing ...

Re: Adding doors to adjoining rooms

Re-reading your comment, can you clarify this part? Minor feature request for the devs, though: For the sake of those of us who find it more natural to draw individual rooms as separate Closed Areas and then place them side-by-side, it would be nice to have a way to merge overlapping walls into a si...

Re: Adding doors to adjoining rooms

Thank you both for the feedback! What nDervish said is the way the tools are intended to be used (we need to make a video on this). Future versions will have "snap" to outer walls (like rivers do to edge of a landmass) to make this easier. We have plans for smart interactions between closed areas bu...

Re: Labels can only be black

I've tried creating a few labels. I tried changing the color to yellow before and after typing the text. I tried selecting the text and changing the color. (note: changing the font size worked, but not the color). The color does show up in the tool window, but the text in the map is always black. R...

Re: Map Key function?

I had to go check on this, but it works. Pick a fairly clear corner of your map, put the symbols down in a column, adjusting the size as needed. Use the Text tool [Text Label Tool] to add a label to the side of each one as desired. Pick a shape [Shape Tool] (probably square) and put it over your le...

Re: Continental drift...and OWM

This feature is one of the main things I was looking for when deciding what map tool I wanted to use to build my world. I partitioned a single continent, dragged the bits around, then added mountains where continental plates collided or subducted oceanic plates. Here's how it looks in OWM: Love tha...
