Re: Other World mapper vs wonderdraft

I own both Other World Mapper and Wonderdraft. For a time, I was quite enamored with Wonderdraft, mainly because it was so easy to use ... at least initially. But I found the program to be lacking as you dig deeper into it. Other World Mapper ... I found it to be a lot more powerful and still prett...

Most of us have been posting images on OWM's Facebook page.

Re: Finally got Other World Mapper onto my map computer :-)

I'm not sure what was available at launch. The documentation that I got with the program answers most questions I've had. I'm guildy of coming here to ask only to find my answer in the official help documents. There are some youtube videos also, but if you've used OWM before the last I checked they ...

Re: How to use the transform tool on a group?

Unless I'm misunderstanding, I experimented and it seems you CAN do this with the Transform tool. I've been able to group several items of different types of objects together. Then, I was able to use the Transform tool to move the group around or grab one of its corners and reduce or enlarge its siz...

Re: L Shaped House

Sure! I'm guessing, like me, you've missed the shapes toolbar that pops up for some tools? It gave me trouble at first since I didn't always notice it. You put unique buildings together using parts of shapes. When you click the Building Tool under City Tools, you get a default rectangular shape. But...

Re: L Shaped House

You can create L's, T's, and X's with the tools we have. Possibly C's and squares (hollow), but I haven't tried it.

Re: Maps you've created

The features are completely stolen edits of OWM's features, so I consider them your property not mine. :) Some would need cleaned up to be on par quality-wise with released features (see the green rooftops that I had trouble filling in all the transparency holes). Some may also be strange-looking si...

Re: Maps you've created

My first drafts of maps for a home brew fantasy campaign: Darguland : The "world" map. Don't judge it based on reality. It's a small continent created with elemental magic with each realm influencing the terrain and climate of the land (don't tell my players). The Mongrel Kings : Zoomed in map of th...

Re: Ask Stupid/Small Questions Here

I don't believe the icons need to be made larger. I asked the question here before going to the PDF then noting the icons.

Items Notes for Labels?

Me again already, sorry. :) I love the Item Notes options. But, perhaps due to my style of map-making, I find myself wishing location notes could be linked to a label instead of a feature. For example, the Kingdom of Otherworl might have a capital and several towns about it. While each settlement co...
